Simply step out into the beautiful countryside or venture further to visit the many local attractions or enjoy a feast of activities suited to those seeking exhilarating adventure or relaxed calm.

A close look and the village still reveals the inspiration for many Beatrix Potter illustrations and a visit to Hill Top is a must for most. Other National Trust properties close by are The Beatrix Potter Gallery in Hawkshead (2 miles) Wray Castle (4 miles) Tarn Hows (4 miles) and The Steamboat Gondola on Coniston Water.

You may enjoy cruising on Lake Windermere or a little shopping in the Honeypot village of Hawkshead.

For the more energetic or sports orientated there are many walks from the door step and easy access to the more challenging fells, mountain biking – Grizedale is a must, fishing and an opportunity to observe the local flora and fauna.
